Common Questions

  • What should I put my recyclables in?

Loose recyclables are best! Use a bin without a bag. If you must bag your recyclables, clear and see-through bags are required.

  • I have extra recycling this week, what should I do?

For extra recycling, please call ahead to schedule it with the office to ensure no items are left behind.

For excess cardboard, please breakdown or flatten them and secure with tape or twine.

There may be an additional charge to take what is above your service volume.

  • Why do my recyclables need to be clean and dry?

By making sure they are clean and dry, we can avoid contaminating other materials in the bin. Once a bin is contaminated, the entirity of the container must be treated as trash.

  • Why is shredded paper not accepted?

Here is a summary from local recycling facilities!

The small pieces created by shredding make it difficult for recycling facilities to sort and process, often getting caught in machinery or blowing around during collection, causing contamination and disrupting the recycling process.
